After arriving from Brazil in 2017, Thales worked as a passive fire installer for several years gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in various passive fire systems from all of the leading suppliers in the NZ market.
Recognising his abilities to communicate well with clients and thoroughly assess installations for compliance with manufacturer's requirements, Thales was soon given more responsibility to plan and inspect installations as well as manage projects and installation teams.
Working on several large projects across Auckland, Thales further developed his skills in handling client relationships and liaising with a range of industry experts such as fire engineers, construction managers and contractors.

Looking to further progress his knowledge in the industry, Thales then moved into a role with one of Auckland's leading building compliance companies, assisting with passive fire inspections as well as a range of other annual specified system inspections. Here he also developed his knowledge of the Building Act requirements for Specified Systems and issuing of a Building Warrant of Fitness.

Thales is currently studying towards his level 4 certificate in Passive Fire and is looking forward to furthering his education in fire safety engineering.

Outside of work Thales enjoys more engineering in the form of lego creations.
